Gender identity and transition

Room to explore, plan and be heard

For adults who are questioning, exploring or in the middle of a transition. Some people come knowing exactly what they need. Others come with questions and no answers. Both are fine.

What it looks like

  • Who it helps

Adults, 18 and older, who are questioning their gender, thinking about or going through a social or medical transition, or supporting their own sense of self after one.

  • What sessions look like

Fifty minutes, in person or by video. We talk about what you want to change, what you want to keep, and what you need from the people and places around you.

  • The method

Supportive, person-centered therapy that follows your goals. I don't follow a script, and I don't decide what your identity should be.

  • What it is not

It is not a test of whether you're really trans or nonbinary, and it is not a promise about how a medical step will go. For medical questions, you'll talk with your medical clinician.

  • Letters

When you need a letter for care, for documents or for work, I write it as part of our work. The letters page explains how it works.

  • How it is paid

Your fee is in writing before you book. Letters are part of therapy, not a separate checklist. The fees page has the details.

Questions

Three questions about this service

Do I need a diagnosis to start?

No. You don't need a diagnosis to talk with me. If a letter is part of what you need, we'll talk about it.

Will you tell me who I am?

No. You decide that. I'm here to listen, ask good questions and help you plan.

Can I come if I haven't told anyone?

Yes. I don't contact anyone unless you ask, and I send nothing to your home. The quick exit button is on every page.

Ready to start?

Write to me with the name and pronouns you'd like me to use. I reply on weekdays.
