Kaveh Yazdani

Licensed clinical social worker, therapist and owner

I work with LGBTQ+ adults, one at a time. I listen first, and I let you set the pace.

I opened Plume as a small, one-person practice so that the person you write to is the person you see.

Most of the people I meet are working on ordinary things: a job, a family, a breakup, a year that felt too long. Some are working out who they are, or how to say it. All of it is welcome, and none of it has to be explained to me before we begin.

I'm direct about what I can and can't offer. I tell you how sessions work, how I protect your privacy, and what I'll write in a letter and what I won't.

How I work

What you can expect from me

  • I use your words

Your name, your pronouns, the terms you use for your body and your relationships. If they change, tell me, and I'll change with them.

  • I say what comes next

Before we try anything, I explain what it is and what it asks of you. You can say no, slow down or stop.

  • I keep it private

What you say stays with me, within the limits the law sets, which I go through with you at the start.

  • I tell you what I can write

If you need a letter, I tell you plainly what I can say from our work, and you read it before it goes anywhere.

Write to me whenever you are ready

I reply on weekdays. Writing commits you to nothing.
